Building Leyborn Idle: Progression and System Overhaul
What We Did
This update brings Leyborn Idle into its next stage: a complete progression framework.
We implemented global XP scaling, mastery tracking per Definition, a new stat modifier model, and a fully updated Mining UI tied directly to the new systems.
Highlights include:
- XP Curve & Tail Shaping – Global config now drives every skill’s pacing with an exponential growth and late-game normalization.
- Mastery Levels – Every Definition (ore, tool, recipe) can now track individual mastery experience.
- Stat Modifier Overhaul – Stats now pull directly from a unified data structure, with proper caps and live UI updates.
- Mining View Update – Displays XP per action, time to mine, and mastery level in real-time.
- Balance Layer – A dedicated
MiningBalanceconfig normalizes tool vs. node interactions across all tiers.
Why It Matters
This is the first true systems milestone.
Everything that follows, Crafting, smelting and enchanting will reuse the same foundation.
Progression is now predictable, scalable, and self-balancing, without manual tweaking for each skill.
Next Steps
In the next few posts, we’ll dive into the individual systems that make this possible:
- XP & Mastery Curve
- Stat Modifier and UI Refactor
- Mining Tier Balance
Each one plays a critical role in keeping Leyborn Idle clean, scalable, and satisfying to grow within.
